Bloggers, Stop the Crowdfunding Nonsense

82337407Crowdfunding is the process of funding your projects by a multitude of people contributing a small amount in order to attain a certain monetary goal. Kickstarter and IndieGoGo are just two of many crowdfunding websites you may have heard of.

My problem isn’t with crowdfunding projects, but with the bloggers that write about them.

I read a lot of blogs daily to keep up with what is new in technology. Lately I’ve been coming across too many blog posts that talk about some great new gadget or software as if it’s an available product, only to find out that it’s a project that doesn’t exist and that someone is trying to raise money to fund. I almost feel like it’s a bait and switch tactic.

Bloggers: Stop it. Start your article by saying that the project is a crowdfunding project so I can move on and read about something else, I’m sure I’ll see your blog post when and if the project actually becomes real.
